The James Jay Dudley Luce Foundation, Inc. is unique in that it is dually chartered in the State of New York to not only provide microgrants but to also "spotlight." The Foundation shines the spotlight on organizations and individuals offering young global leaders the opportunity to impact positive social change, most frequently but not limited to the Foundation's interest in Arts, Education and Orphan Care, often as it pertains to the Foundation's nations of interest, Afghanistan, Haiti, India, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka.
The Foundation achieves ‘spotlighting’ through social media and its own Stewardship Report on Connecting Goodness, which features original and aggregated content. As of 2013, The Stewardship Report had published over 1,000 stories by over 100 hundred writers and had 36,000 followers across various social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr. Facebook pages also exist for the Foundation, Stewardship Report, and the Foundation's affiliate organization, Orphans International Worldwide (OIWW).
The value of the Foundation's spotlighting is not reflected in its accountancy, but is more than half of its Mission. For an overview, see Jim Luce Writes in The Stewardship Report on Connecting Goodness.
